Happy Easter!

Yesterday we dyed Easter eggs using Kool-aid!  It worked really well and smelled so much yummier than vinegar.  Our store only had a few colors but for our first attempt, I was impressed.  Kaylee was too!  She ooo'd and aaa'd the whole time.
THEN I brought out the stickers and life got SO much better. Kaylee thinks everything is better with stickers.

We started our Easter day at church as a family and with Doug, Annalaura and girls, but then parted ways as John had to work unfortunately.  Kaylee and I spent Easter with my Aunt Jenifer, Uncle Laure, and cousins Phillip, Kelly, Brian, Heidi, Jason, and baby Drake!

This was Kaylee's first Easter egg hunt ever!  And in true 2.5 year old fashion, she was more entertained by throwing hard boiled eggs on the ground and hearing them crack than she was in the actual hunt.  So we had to keep prompting her to "find" the next egg.  She also doesn't like eggs so I'm sure she was confused as to why we thought she'd be excited to find eggs!

I made this dress for Mandy's baby shower but Kaylee was sick that day so she didn't get to wear it.  It worked perfectly for today instead.  She had a t-shirt under it for church but this afternoon it was in the low 80's which called for a sundress.

We hope you had a wonderful Easter too!  We are indescribably grateful that God sacrificed His only Son to save us from our sins and Easter is the pinnacle to our faith, knowing that Christ has Risen!

Then

During the last few weeks of pregnancy, Kate listened to Brad Paisley's new song "Then". She didn't just listen to it a few times, she obsessively played the song on repeat, learned every word, and sung it at the top of her lungs while driving. Then one day a few weeks after Kaylee was born, Kate was driving with Kaylee by themselves. Kaylee began to cry...then scream. It didn't matter how much Kate reassured her, pulled over to make sure something wasn't wrong, or attempted to hold the pacifier in place with one arm backwards while driving. It finally occurred to Kate that maybe Kaylee wants mommy to sing to her (although no one else would want this!). So Kate put track #4 on and began to sing. Kaylee immediately calmed down. Low and behold, it's not even mommy's singing that Kaylee likes! It's Brad's!
