We're having a baby!!

I suppose it's about time I update our blog and share our big news! I am 15 weeks along in our first pregnancy! Baby Woertman is due July 18. It has been a rough first trimester with "morning" sickness, but that has subsided as I've moved into the second trimester. I have a doctor's appointment on January 19 that MAY be able to tell us the gender, if not we'll know in February.

Sorry the picture is blurry, but our camera doesn't like us....

We are excited to watch our family grow here in North Carolina. Our nephew Ricky (Freddy and Candy's 8 month old) will be just over a year older than our baby, so that will be fun to watch them grow up together.

Other than our news, there isn't much else going on here! The weather has been very odd this year. We spent Christmas outside on the porch with it being 75 degrees outside, but this weekend has been in the "teens" and supposedly into single digits! COLD!!!

Its such wonderful news. The next months will fly by. Enjoy all the new experiences and take lots of special time for the 2 of you as after July things will be much busier but filled with such joy.

You look adorable! Thanks for sharing the picture since we can't watch you "grow" in person. You'll definitely be needing a new camera though once Baby Woertman makes an appearance!! Much love to you and John.

Then

During the last few weeks of pregnancy, Kate listened to Brad Paisley's new song "Then". She didn't just listen to it a few times, she obsessively played the song on repeat, learned every word, and sung it at the top of her lungs while driving. Then one day a few weeks after Kaylee was born, Kate was driving with Kaylee by themselves. Kaylee began to cry...then scream. It didn't matter how much Kate reassured her, pulled over to make sure something wasn't wrong, or attempted to hold the pacifier in place with one arm backwards while driving. It finally occurred to Kate that maybe Kaylee wants mommy to sing to her (although no one else would want this!). So Kate put track #4 on and began to sing. Kaylee immediately calmed down. Low and behold, it's not even mommy's singing that Kaylee likes! It's Brad's!
