I meant to blog about our trip for all you non-facebookers! But apparently, driving for 8 hours a day wipes a girl out and I forgot about the blog. So here is the run down:

Monday the movers arrived at 9am and left at 3pm. They were suppose to have been done by noonish, so we got a much later start to our trip than I had planned. Luckily, we had no reservations anywhere...just playing each day by ear.

Monday night we stayed in Statesville, NC.

Tuesday we headed to Tennessee. We stopped in Pigeon Forge, TN at a river for some last southern fall color photo ops.

Then we headed to Franklin, TN where my friend Beth lives. We had dinner with them and stayed in their beautiful home! Kaylee was excited to play with her friends who we haven't seen in over 6 months! We miss them!

Walkin' in Memphis

Wednesday we drove through Arkansas and stayed in Van Buren, AR for the night.

Thursday was Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and we finally stopped in Tucumcari, NM. NM by far was the most boring and weirdest part of our trip! So bizarre!

Friday we rushed out of NM and into AZ. We stayed last night in Kingman, AZ.

Today we're headed for Fresno! Should be arriving around 4ish. And now you're all caught up.

Then

During the last few weeks of pregnancy, Kate listened to Brad Paisley's new song "Then". She didn't just listen to it a few times, she obsessively played the song on repeat, learned every word, and sung it at the top of her lungs while driving. Then one day a few weeks after Kaylee was born, Kate was driving with Kaylee by themselves. Kaylee began to cry...then scream. It didn't matter how much Kate reassured her, pulled over to make sure something wasn't wrong, or attempted to hold the pacifier in place with one arm backwards while driving. It finally occurred to Kate that maybe Kaylee wants mommy to sing to her (although no one else would want this!). So Kate put track #4 on and began to sing. Kaylee immediately calmed down. Low and behold, it's not even mommy's singing that Kaylee likes! It's Brad's!
