Catchin up

Last week was John's birthday so Kaylee and I went to visit him at work. She and I shared a Birthday Cake - Cake Pop to celebrate Daddy!

Every Monday I babysit a friend's 3 year old boy and 18 month old girl. It's also a great playdate for Kaylee, to have some girl time! Eliza is the only other little girl we know out here.

And in her spare time, Kaylee researches all the great deals at Joann's for me. What a good Kayteedids assistant!

1/16 Irish heritage...or something like that

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We all wore our green today, did you? If not, here is a little {pinch} from us! :) Kaylee had a loooong day being toted around by mom and dad while running errands, so by the time I got around to taking pictures of her in her holiday outfit, this was the closest I could get to a smile.

We did get a lot of kisses blown to us though so she wasn't entirely mad at us.

While we were at the mall, I had the brilliant idea to put Kaylee on the carousel for her first time.
(I think our camera man was a little dizzy watching us)

She was NOT a fan and although she didn't cry she clung to me and we eventually had to get off the horse and sit on the bench.

On our way home we got stopped by a train....a looooong train. So long that we turned the truck off and I was sitting in the passenger window taking pictures. Kaylee slept through the whole thing and John and I had a good time talking about the train. It was a coal train that probably had 75 cars FULL of coal. It was pretty cool...or maybe we're just easy to please living out in the boonies. heehee

Looking for some help...

Does anyone have a friend who has started a small business and grown it into something big? Any kind of business will work. If so, would they be willing to let me pick their brain? I really just have a couple specific questions. You can email me or leave a blog comment. Thanks!!

Then

During the last few weeks of pregnancy, Kate listened to Brad Paisley's new song "Then". She didn't just listen to it a few times, she obsessively played the song on repeat, learned every word, and sung it at the top of her lungs while driving. Then one day a few weeks after Kaylee was born, Kate was driving with Kaylee by themselves. Kaylee began to cry...then scream. It didn't matter how much Kate reassured her, pulled over to make sure something wasn't wrong, or attempted to hold the pacifier in place with one arm backwards while driving. It finally occurred to Kate that maybe Kaylee wants mommy to sing to her (although no one else would want this!). So Kate put track #4 on and began to sing. Kaylee immediately calmed down. Low and behold, it's not even mommy's singing that Kaylee likes! It's Brad's!
