Park Day!!!

Eeeeeeeee! Today was 68 and not raining or windy, so we went to the park!! This is the first day in MONTHS that we've been able to venture to a park and it was wonderful! We stopped at Chik-fil-A for some nuggets, fries and milk for a picnic. Then Kaylee had fun on the swings for awhile. If she could, I think she'd swing all day. She's like her momma, I'd swing all day if I could too! :D

Feeling Loved

Whew! We've been busy these last 2 weeks! My Dad and Michele came out to visit for a few days. Kaylee is definitely a Grandpa's girl!

We went to Red, Hot and Blue for some pulled pork. Kaylee actually had mini-corndogs and broccoli but refused to eat the oreo. (She doesn't like sugary stuff!!)

My dad and Michele went to Australia a few months ago and brought Kaylee a stuffed Kangaroo! Kaylee is a good Kangaroo-mama and wanted to feed her new baby.

I took my dad and Michele to the Raleigh airport the same day that I also picked up my friend Tara!! She came to visit us for 5 days. Kaylee loved the constant attention and I loved having Tara here. We even had a photo-shoot with my friend Beth.

Now the house is empty again and we're back to our regular routine. This was a great 2 weeks to tide me over until we get back to CA in June for Kaylee's 2nd birthday. :D

Then

During the last few weeks of pregnancy, Kate listened to Brad Paisley's new song "Then". She didn't just listen to it a few times, she obsessively played the song on repeat, learned every word, and sung it at the top of her lungs while driving. Then one day a few weeks after Kaylee was born, Kate was driving with Kaylee by themselves. Kaylee began to cry...then scream. It didn't matter how much Kate reassured her, pulled over to make sure something wasn't wrong, or attempted to hold the pacifier in place with one arm backwards while driving. It finally occurred to Kate that maybe Kaylee wants mommy to sing to her (although no one else would want this!). So Kate put track #4 on and began to sing. Kaylee immediately calmed down. Low and behold, it's not even mommy's singing that Kaylee likes! It's Brad's!
