17 weeks along...

The weekend

The railing is up!


This weekend we worked on organizing the house, simplifying our material belongs, and indoor home improvement. John finished laying the flooring in the last 2 bedrooms. With the need for a nursery, rooms are being switched around and we're losing our storage areas! John worked a lot harder than I did. I have been sucked into the Twilight series of books so I HAD to finish up the 4th book today. Then we relaxed watching the Superbowl quietly at home.

Snow Day!

The last two winters we've been in NC, we've had "snow" but it was less than an inch both times. But this morning we awoke to 4 inches! And it's still snowing!! I have the day off of work since all the county government buildings are closed. We're still waiting for the word from Starbucks on whether John has to go in later today. As you probably know, Starbucks employees work more than a postman! Here are a few pics from our day so far...

We're having a baby!!

I suppose it's about time I update our blog and share our big news! I am 15 weeks along in our first pregnancy! Baby Woertman is due July 18. It has been a rough first trimester with "morning" sickness, but that has subsided as I've moved into the second trimester. I have a doctor's appointment on January 19 that MAY be able to tell us the gender, if not we'll know in February.

We are excited to watch our family grow here in North Carolina. Our nephew Ricky (Freddy and Candy's 8 month old) will be just over a year older than our baby, so that will be fun to watch them grow up together.

Other than our news, there isn't much else going on here! The weather has been very odd this year. We spent Christmas outside on the porch with it being 75 degrees outside, but this weekend has been in the "teens" and supposedly into single digits! COLD!!!

Teens!!

Tonight we hosted our youth group teens for a Christmas dinner. Afterwards they went to Patrick and Johanna's for dessert and a bonfire. They're a fun group!

My husband is a genius!

I am continually amazed and impressed by John's creativity and skill! He has a vision for our deck and it is coming together so beautifully!! Some of the railings are up already and I can't be any happier!
